Dear Families,

Board of Education Seeks Community Input into Superintendent Search. Complete the Online Survey!

Members of the Bexley Board of Education have officially launched their search for Bexley’s next superintendent and are focused on finding an exceptional leader to carry the school district’s work forward.

Critical to the Board’s work is understanding what the Bexley families and community members value and expect from the district’s top leader. Please complete a short, online Community Survey related to the search as quickly as possible. The survey closes on Tuesday, May 26, at noon.

Access the Community Survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BEXCOMM

Please visit the Lost and Found on the front lawn all day on Tuesday, May 26.  All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the day on Tuesday, May 26.

This month, the Foundation features our 2026 Spring grant update and details about the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Alumni Piazza and Walkway. Plus the 2026 Educator of the Year!

Field Day is on Thursday, May 28.  8:40-10:40 AM for Grades K-1-2; 12:30-2:30 PM for Grades 3-4-5.  Students need to bring the following items on Field Day: an extra change of clothes in case they get too wet at the water games, sunscreen, towel, sunglasses and/or hat, closed-toed shoes, and water bottle.  Sandals and swimsuits are not allowed.

Thank you for your partnership during this school year.  We hope all of our Cubs, Mallards, and Moose have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer break.  We look forward to seeing you in August!  We will send all of the information for the start of school, including school supply drop off times and staggered start days for kindergarten, when we return in August.  If you need anything at all, elementary school principals work during the month of June.

Looking forward to a great summer,

Nyesha Clayton, Montrose Elementary Principal

Rachel Niswander, Maryland Elementary Principal

David Schottner, Cassingham Elementary Principal

Beginning Band Camp

Is your student going to be an incoming 5th or 6th grader this summer? Is your student interested in music? If so, please consider a new band camp opportunity this summer that is absolutely free! This camp is perfect for those who are either already signed up for a band next year and want enrichment, or who are unsure if the band is right for them and would like to try out playing an instrument. Although the camp is free, students need to come with an instrument. To access an instrument, check out Music and Arts where a two month rental is $10 or Rettig Music, where rentals are $12 for three months. Those who need assistance will have options for school based instrument rentals. Please reach out to Andy.Johnson@bexley.us with any questions.
