Cassingham Newsletter #36

Dear Families:

Our Cubs, Mallards, and Moose are hard at work preparing for our upcoming Spring Art Hop!  We invite families to visit our schools on Thursday, May 7th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. This is a wonderful display of the student’s visual arts, musical performances, and an opportunity to shop at our book fair. Students must be accompanied by an adult family member. Due to all the art work, no food will be allowed in the building. The front lawn is available to enjoy your food and drinks. We look forward to sharing this special evening with you. We appreciate you having a conversation at home on our expectations to be Respectful, Responsible, Safe and Kind. Please click here to find out all of the details for this year’s Art Hop.

As a No Place for Hate school district, we are asking all students and families to sign this pledge.  A paper copy will come home soon.

Thanks for your partnership!

Nyesha Clayton, Montrose Elementary School Principal

Rachel Niswander, Maryland Elementary School Principal

David Schottner, Cassingham Elementary School Principal

Beginning Band Camp

Is your student going to be an incoming 5th or 6th grader this summer? Is your student interested in music? If so, please consider a new band camp opportunity this summer that is absolutely free! This camp is perfect for those who are either already signed up for a band next year and want enrichment, or who are unsure if the band is right for them and would like to try out playing an instrument. Although the camp is free, students need to come with an instrument. To access an instrument, check out Music and Arts where a two month rental is $10 or Rettig Music, where rentals are $12 for three months. Those who need assistance will have options for school based instrument rentals. Please reach out to Andy.Johnson@bexley.us with any

questions.

Cereal Box Dominoes

In May, we will be having our 2nd annual Cassingham Cereal Box Dominoes!  Please send in unopened boxes of cereal to use for this event, if you are able.  The cereal will be donated to the Montrose Little Free Pantry after our event.
