🐾 PLEASE KEEP PETS ON SIDEWALKS AND OFF OF SCHOOL PROPERTY

Thank you for walking your bikes and scooters on school property. There has been a great improvement in the past few weeks, and we appreciate your continued support to keep our Cubs, Mallard, and Moose safe! We now ask for your help to keep pets off of school property. Pets may remain on public sidewalks. We are finding that students with allergies to pets, or who are simply not comfortable around some animals, are having a hard time walking through dismissal crowds and finding their parents without encountering animals. Details are included in school board policy. If you could please keep pets off of school property, we would greatly appreciate it.

📱 STATE LAW ON CELL PHONE AND SMART WATCHES

Since 2025, the state law in Ohio is that each public school district must have a policy regarding the use of cell phones and smart watches. Bexley City Schools does not allow students to have these devices during the school day. They must stay in the student’s backpack, locker, or on their teacher’s desk.

🧁 BIRTHDAY PARTIES AND SPECIAL OCCASIONS

We are mindful of the variety of food allergies that may impact each classroom. School birthdays are celebrated in class with song, recognition, and/or other ways determined by each child’s homeroom teacher. Parents/guardians should not send food, drinks, balloons, outside deliveries, and/or trinkets to school for celebrations of birthdays. Special occasions require pre-approval by the principal.

🏫 CASSINGHAM

📦 Cardboard Challenge
We are excited to host the Cardboard Challenge at Cassingham Elementary! This is a great opportunity for students at any age and their families to come out and be curious, creative, risk takers and feel like a kid. This event invites families to come and PLAY and create some amazing things with just cardboard. We will have all the cardboard, tape, scissors and cutting tools you would need (although we always encourage you to bring safe things from home) but you are challenged to come up with a creative idea of what you would like to create. In the past families have made: boats, houses, games, hats, wearable art and so much more. So, come out on Saturday, October 3rd from 8:30 - 11:30 AM at the Cassingham playground and celebrate creativity, play and curiosity! We can’t wait to create with you! If you have extra cardboard boxes, please break them down and bring them to the Cassingham Office any school day!

🏃 Marathon for Kids
At Cassingham Elementary, PE classes for 3rd through 5th grade students are utilizing Marathon Kids to track the individual distances each student walks or jogs. Every student works toward their own personal mileage milestones while simultaneously contributing their hard-earned miles to a collective, school-wide goal. Ms. Grzywna is working hard to log their progress as students stay active together to help Cassingham reach its end-of-year target. Linked below are directions for parents to create an account and to follow their child's progress and submit miles for approval.

Thanks for your partnership!
