Cassingham Cubs Family Newsletter: 08/09/2026

Dear Families,

We can’t wait to welcome our Cubs, Mallards, and Moose back into our buildings. We are excited for another school year and eagerly awaiting the opportunities that our time together will bring! 

Information was emailed about your child’s teacher assignment on the evening of August 7, 2025.  In order to expedite that process, be sure that you have updated your family’s information in PowerSchool prior to that date. (Newly registered families for the 2026-27 school year do not need to update your information in PowerSchool as it has already been entered.)  Be sure to check your spam/junk folders if you have not received an email.

Each elementary principal will send a separate welcome letter with the start of school details; including information regarding digital wellness, arrival and dismissal locations and our lunch/recess times. School begins on August 13th!

Health Records

As part of our commitment to keeping all students safe and healthy, this is a friendly reminder to submit your child's updated immunization records to your student’s health office if you haven't done so already. 

All Kindergarten, 7th grade, and 12th grade students should be prepared to submit immunization records with their updated immunization doses/dates. 

Ohio law requires all students attending public schools to be up to date on immunizations.  Records must be submitted prior to September 1, 2026. If records are not received prior to or on September 1, 2026, your child may be excluded from school until immunizations are up to date. 

How to Submit Your Records

You can turn in updated records using any of the following options:

• Email: Send a copy or clear photo to the health office of your student

• Drop-off: Hand-deliver a copy to the building front office during regular school hours

If your student(s) is missing required immunizations, you can schedule an appointment with their primary care provider, local pharmacy, or Franklin County Public Health.

Cassingham Updates:

• Please remember that you can use Pay Schools to check your child’s lunch account.  You can make sure your child has money on his/her account, and you are also able to see what they are buying in case there are concerns about the nutrition or volume of what your child is buying.

• These documents stay updated so you can see how your child is using technology in various learning spaces, and what homework looks like in each grade level.

• We know that drop off and pick up can be hectic times!  Please follow these guidelines to keep all of our drivers and Cubs safe!  Here are some helpful hints for arrival!

  • YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO park in YELLOW zones. Parking in these zones block our walkers' lines of sight and create hazards while crossing the street. If you park in these areas, you will be asked to move and may be ticketed by Bexley police. 

  • Per Ohio law.. You are only allowed to park in a designated handicapped space when your vehicle properly displays a valid disability license plate or an official removable windshield placard issued to a driver or passenger with a qualifying mobility impairment. 

  • Students MUST exit their vehicles on the SIDEWALK side of the street (and NOT in the middle of the street).   

  • Do not block ANY crosswalks when dropping off your student.  

  • Please abide by the traffic signals (no turns, stop signs, etc.). Our Safety Patrol members learn the traffic signals and it helps EVERYONE if all walkers and drivers are on the same page.
